Merge into Service

The Damascus Road journey is paved with two core values:

To be RELATIONAL (Matt. 22:37-39) & MISSIONAL (Isaiah 58)

On this road trip of life, we come across many opportunities to impact the lives of other people, while we are personally being changed. At DRC we call this Merging into Service by meeting the practical needs among the people in our church family, our neighborhood, our city, our world.

Recovery (John Gilmore ~ john@damascusroadchurch.com )

Do you have life experience dealing with your own recovery with issues such as co-dependency, chemical dependency, divorce, sexual addiction etc.?  Are you in a place where you would love to help others while in the process of your own recovery and healing?

Media/Tech (Tim Lokken ~ tim@damascusroadchurch.com )

Interested in video recording the services periodically?  Maybe your familiar with video, audio or web production?  Do you enjoy and have experience in programming?  Interested in seeing how you could contribute to DRC’s growing media and technological needs?

Music/Arts (Travis Agnew ~ travis@damascusroadchurch.com )

Break free and come alive through using your gifts and talents for the body at DRC.  Potential opportunities: Outreach music events, Sunday worship team, Kids worship/crazy fun, Youth group worship, Small group worship, Prayer meeting worship,

Potential opportunities for the Arts: Graphic Design, Painters or any other creative arts.

Awakening the Bride (John Gilmore ~ john@damascusroadchurch.com )

“Awaken the wha?…” Yep, you heard the name right.  Unless, you have some history with Pastor Shane’s messages or have heard his radio program on WFEN (88.3FM), you may be unfamiliar with Awakening the Bride as the ministry name for Pastor Shane’s messages and radio program.  If you enjoy the messages by Pastor Shane and you would love to be a part of this outreach (recording, duplicating and fulfilling requests from here to all over the world) we would love to hear from you.

Youth (Tony Tucci ~ tony@damascusroadchurch.com )

Got a heart for the youth?  Are you looking for a place to plug in and encourage and help this next generation?  Let us know.

Sunday (Deanna Lokken ~ Deanna@damascusroadchurch.com)

Each week it takes a small army of dedicated people to make “church” happen every week.  Whether it’s setting up the food table, helping out at the information table, set up or being a greeter, we would love your help whenever and wherever you can give it.

Facilities Maintenance (Paul Lackey ~ paul@damascusroadchurch.com )

Love to work with your hands?  Enjoy cleaning, maintaining, building or fixing things?  We have on going need for help in a number of areas from helping out a couple of times a month on regular cleaning of the church to help with skilled trade needs.

Intercessory Prayer (John Gilmore ~ john@damascusroadchurch.com )

If you are a silent warrior whose heart beats to stand in the gap for the needs of people…there is a real need for people like you here at DRC.  If you are interested in helping us start a real intercessory prayer team here, let us know.

Kids (Amy Agnew ~ amy@damascusroadchurch.com )

Have fun with kids while encouraging them toward Christ – We’d love for parents who bring kids and anyone else who likes kids to volunteer once a month- one service.  We are also looking forward to ongoing outreaches in 2010 hosting Figure Heads concert, Vacation Bible School, Neighborhood Party, Halloween Party, Christmas Party and after school programming.

Administration (John Gilmore ~ john@damascusroadchurch.com )

Whether it’s organizing, assisting, paperwork or data entry…if you love this stuff then we would love to hear from you!
