Attending Damascus Road for: About 8 to 9 years
Areas of involvement at DR: As deacon of benevolence, I lead a team to offer resources and financial support to those in need. I also serve on the teaching team, women’s ministry, and the missions team.
Family life & Work: I have three (almost) grown kids: Philip, Margo, and Davante. I am currently a full-time graduate student and will graduate in December. My education and experience as a Social Worker have prepared me with the knowledge of community resources and the ability to think strategically about Benevolence and how it relates to our community.
Vision for DR: My vision for Damascus Road is that we would be 'a city on a hill and a light to the nations'. Our city, and nation, suffer from division (racial, class, gender). My vision is that we as a body would represent God's coming Kingdom and continue to make disciples.
The vision for Benevolence Team, is that out of the love (and resources) God has freely given to us, we would generously give to others. That we would meet the needs of those within our church family. And that as a team, we would be a welcoming point of entry to others.
